Quick reference guide

You can install UltimateLaunch either with the setup (UltimateLaunch Setup.exe) from your PC or with the CAB file (UltimateLaunch.cab) directly on your device. Both versions are identical, but you are able to select the language, if you use the setup. You need only one of both installation possibilitys. You can choose which one you prefer.

Download UltimateLaunch setup
Connect your device to the PC and establish an ActiveSync connection
Start the downloaded file UltimateLaunch Setup.exe on your PC
Choose your language and click on Install. UltimateLaunch is now beeing transfered to your device
Select Device as the installation location and tip on Install. UltimateLaunch is now beeing installed on your device.
After successful installation UltimateLaunch is visible on the today screen

UltimateLaunch.cab

Download UltimateLaunch CAB
Copy the file UltimateLaunch.cab to your Windows Mobile device
Start the CAB file on your device
Select Device as the installation location and click on Install. UltimateLaunch is now beeing installed on your device.
After successful installation UltimateLaunch is visible on the today screen

Follow the steps of the first installation
Windows Mobile offers you the possibility to firstly remove the previous installation
Confirm this by pressing OK
During the uninstall process, UltimateLaunch asks you if all settings should be deleted
Click on No, if you want to keep your settings
In the following installation UltimateLaunch asks if the existing settings should be overwritten
Click on No, if you don't want to restore the default settings
UltimateLaunch is now updated

If you have problems with this procedure, you can also uninstall UltimateLaunch manually:

First make a backup of the file UltimateLaunch.ini located in the directory \Program Files\UltimateLaunch, if you want to keep your settings
Deactivate UltimateLaunch in the list of today plugins at Start->Settings->Today->Items
Start the file explorer and delete the folder \Program Files\UltimateLaunch
Now, follow the steps for the first installation
Restore your contingently backuped UltimateLaunch.ini back to the directory \Programms\UltimateLaunch and overwrite the existing file
Invoke the context menu of UltimateLaunch on the today screen and select Reload ini
UltimateLaunch is now updated

Start the configuration program and choose Activation (2.) on the far right (1.). Enter your registration code (3.) and press Activate (3.). Confirm the information and click OK (4.) on the bottom left hand side. The program is now activated.

Verify that..

..the upper and lower case of your ownername of the device is equal to the name specified during purchase.
..there are no additional spaces behind your ownername.
..you entered the correct activation code.
..you proceeded like descibed at How do I activate the program?

You can change your ownername of the device under Start->Settings->Personal->Ownername.

Write me an email if you have problems with the activation anymore.

The comprehensive adjustments can be made directly on your mobile device, by using the enclosed program UltimateLaunchConfig.exe.
Tip on the icon with the label Config or press&hold the stylus on the tab headers, until the context menu appears and select Settings....
In the appearing window, you can make all possible adjustments. Click on OK on the bottom left hand side to save your changes and get back to the today screen.

If the gestures do not work with a today plugin, they should be disabled for the respective plugin.
To switch tabs with gestures anyway, you can add the today plugin to a combined tab. Then you can place a tab, which contains another today plugin with working gestures or a tab with shortcuts, above or below the plugin tab. Instead of shortcuts you can also insert just an invisible seperator (with a height of about 32 pixels) into the tab. In this so created area the gestures will still work.

Start the configuration program and switch to Headers. Set the value for height to 0. Quit the configuration by hitting OK.

Hint: Because the context menu is then not available anymore, you can use the shortcut to the configuration program to modify the settings. The configuration program (UltimateLaunchConfig.exe) is located in the folder \Program Files\UltimateLaunch\, in the case you have deleted the shortcut.

Most icons on the screenshots are from the Vista Icons Pack ST which contains more than 1500 XP icons. They are not contained in the download. The icons can be downloaded from this site for free. You can choose your required icons ont the PC and then copy them on your device or storage card to integrate them in UltimateLaunch. There are many sites on the internet, containing more free nice XP icons, which can be used in UltimateLaunch, too. Import is, that they are 32 bit XP icons (8 bit for transparency) and that the file contain an icon with the size it is to be displayed.
